About Survive Out Loud

Our Mission:

At Survive Out Loud, we believe no one should battle the hidden weight of cancer alone.

We provide a community for those navigating life with cancer—past, present, or alongside a loved one, where they can speak the truth of their mental health struggles, be heard without judgment, and find strength in connection.

Together, we shatter silence, spark brave conversations, and walk alongside each other in healing.

Meghan Wallace

Survive Out Loud was co-founded by Meghan Wallace, a stage 4 colorectal cancer survivor, mental health professional, and lifelong advocate for truth, resilience, and connection. With more than 15 years of experience in forensic behavioral health, Meghan brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her role as Executive Director of Survive Out Loud.

Cancer changed everything for Meghan—not just her health, but her voice, her purpose, and her way of seeing the world. What tried to silence her instead gave her a louder voice and a mission to help others find theirs. Drawing on her professional background and her own journey through diagnosis, treatment, and healing, Meghan co-created Survive Out Loud to ensure no one has to carry the hidden weight of cancer in silence.

As both a mental health professional and a survivor, Meghan understands the raw truth of survivorship—its fear, uncertainty, and lasting emotional toll. She has spent her career helping individuals in high-stakes environments face challenges with honesty, courage, and stability, while also walking her own path through trauma and healing. Known for her ability to bring humor and humanity into even the heaviest spaces, she creates environments where survivors feel seen, heard, and connected.

At Survive Out Loud, Meghan believes healing isn’t about being perfect—it’s about telling the truth, laughing when you can, and refusing to do it alone. Survivorship out loud means showing up messy and honest, finding connection in the chaos, and proving that silence has no place in healing.
